Independent defence technical services group Cohort has been awarded a £7m contract to provide specialist technical training and support manpower for an overseas customer.

The contract will run until 2011 and will be carried out by Cohort’s MASS subsidiary. MASS is an independent UK systems house with a strong defence and aerospace market focus. The company is based near St Neots in Cambridgeshire with a second facility in Lincoln.

Following this order, Cohort’s group order book stands at £44.4m.

Cohort operates through two wholly-owned subsidiaries, MASS Consultants Limited (MASS) and Systems Consultants Services Limited (SCS), both of which are leading independent service providers, working for defence, wider government and industry clients.

MASS was acquired by Cohort in August 2006 for £12.5m and is an independent UK systems house focused on the defence and aerospace markets. MASS offers specialist skills in four main business areas: managed services, electronic warfare, secure communications and information systems.
