Colour change

Nissan says it is the first car manufacturer in Europe to launch a production model using ChromaFlair paint. The body colour flips from green to purple depending on the angle of the light, the angle of view and the various contours of the body surface. This high-tech finish, ‘Mystic Green’ appears on a special edition Primera GT, which goes on sale on 1 April.

The paint is produced using ChromaFlair pigments, which take the form of tiny flakes just a few micrometers in size. The pigments create colour through light interference. Different colours are produced by precisely controlling the thickness of the layers within the pigments’ structure.
