BP and Elf’s new joint venture

Elf Atochem and BP Amoco have announced the creation of a polypropylenejoint venture which will pool the two companies’ European polypropylene activities and create a new worldwide joint venture in research and technology. Both companies believe that by pooling their resources on a global scale, they will strengthen their competitiveness and capacity for innovation in this area.

New Korea move for Hyperlast

Korean component manufacturer Daehan Chemical has signed an international agreement with Hyperlast allowing it to distribute the UK manufacturer’s Autothane product throughout the Asian continent. Autothane is aimed specifically at the manufacture of jounce bumpers, spring aids and noise/vibration handling applications in car suspension systems.

Acquisition of Webster

Midlands based model and toolmakers, the Webster Group, has been acquired by a joint venture between GR Investments and BPT. A five-year investment plan is in place which it is hoped will enable the new company – Websters Precision Tooling – to achieve world-class status.

HMH launches Infast

Haden MacLellan Holdings has united its fastener manufacturing and distribution resources to create what it claims is Europe’s largest integrated manufacturer and distributor of fasteners and `C’ class components. The new company, Infast, will aim to embrace every step in the supply chain, from initial design and precision manufacturing to lineside feed and inventory management, through a single point of contact.
