New name for Harmonic

Harmonic Drive has a new name. As of March, the new company name is Heason Technologies Group. Why? Well, probably you’ll most readily associate Harmonic Drive with motion control, an area in which the company has some considerable expertise. But it was also felt that the name failed to reflect the broader capabilities of the company. Sales Director Graham Mackrell comments: ‘Harmonic’s original product lines are forming a steadily reducing part of the whole picture. We felt the best way to embrace the wide and varied technologies we now offer was to change the name.’

Two key buys for Wyko

Wyko has acquired 100% of the share capital both of Major Fluid Power and Tomax for a total consideration of £1.085 million. Major is a specialist distributor of hydraulics and pneumatics, and Wyko sees the move as key to accelerating its expansion in the fluid power market. The acquisition of Tomax, a distributor of power transmission components, further strengthens Wyko’s Industrial Distribution division.
