Jekyll Electronic Technology of Aldermaston has added to its own range of solutions to industrial communications applications by joining forces with Dymec of Massachusetts. Jekyll has been officially appointed UK distributor for Dymec after two years of selling the company’s range of Fibre Optic Data Link modules to the UK market.
Matsushita in new vision partnership
A new distribution agreement to market Matsushita’s vision and Imagechecker products has expanded the range offered by LC Automation. The range includes the M100 and M200 Imagecheckers, which meet the 100% inspection criteria demanded particularly within the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries.
Rockwell Automation has announced that its world headquarters will be moving from Costa Mesa, California, to Milwaukee. Speaking of the move, chairman Don Davies said: “Locating our headquarters close to our business in the midwest will significantly enhance the lines of communication within the company.” The 165 employees currently based in California will begin moving to the new headquarters this summer.
IBM and Dell technoIogy pact
In what is thought to be one of the largest ever industry OEM agreements, IBM and Dell Computers have announced a $16 billion technology pact. Dell will purchase storage, microelectronics, networking, and display technology from IBM and, in the future, IBM’s copper and silicon-on-insulator advanced technologies. The seven year agreement will also call for broad patent cross licensing between the two companies and collaboration on product development.
