Good Energy Group

has announced promising interim results for the period ending 30 June 2008.

Annual sales were up by £1.2m in the first six months of 2008 and MWh sales of electricity were up by 12 per cent from to 60,791 in the first half of the year.

The number of electricity customers also saw a rise with a seven per cent increase in the same period.

Good Energy Group is the UK’s only supplier providing electricity from wholly renewable sources and the company’s healthy figures reveal an increasing consumer concern over green energy.

Juliet Davenport, chief executive officer and founder of Good Energy, said: ‘These results are extremely encouraging as the company moves forward. The continued growth will help support our long-term strategy to develop our generation portfolio and expand on our existing wind farm.’

Good Energy’s strong figures follow the announcement of two new services.

From September, a dual-fuel tariff will be available to customers to provide greater flexibility. Incentives will also be offered via the Good Energy Shop, which is set to sell a range of eco-friendly and energy saving products for commercial use.

John Sellers, chairman of Good Energy Group, is optimistic about future growth. He said: ‘The board remains confident about the enduring prospects for Good Energy; it has a winning brand, committed staff and a strong management team. The company is well funded and has invested in new products to help deliver new revenue streams.’

Good Energy is set to improve on this year's performance and is currently planning significant expansion to its energy generating assets.
