There's still time to enter The Engineer's 2022 Collaborate To Innovate Awards

Now in its seventh year, C2I was launched to uncover and celebrate great examples of engineering collaboration – a dynamic critical to addressing many of the challenges and problems faced by society.

The competition is open to innovative technology led projects which are underpinned by collaboration between two or more separate organisations and which have had, or are likely to have, a positive impact in their area of application.

Entries are invited from projects addressing challenges across eight categories, including automotive; aerospace, defence and security; information, data and connectivity; healthcare and medical; energy and environment; and manufacturing technology.

Entries will be judged by a panel of industry leaders including Alan Newby, director of aerospace technology and future programmes at Rolls-Royce; Professor Andy Wright, director of strategic technology at BAE Systems; and Dr Rachel Bishop, Deputy Director, Research Base at the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council

This year’s competition is supported by EPSRC and EngineeringUK, and sponsored by HVM Catapult, Megger, Powerstar, The Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), Hays Recruitment and Mazak.  The headline partner for C2I 2022 is Babcock International Group.

The closing date for entries is midnight on Friday 14th October and the winners will be revealed at a drinks reception on the evening of Thursday 23rd February ay One Great George Street, London.

Winning the C2I award in the aerospace and defence category was a great way to gain publicity for the DISCOVERER project and the amazing collaborative achievements of the team of institutions involved.  By granting recognition of the project’s successes, it has greatly expanded public awareness for the project and its aim of making space more sustainable by operating satellites in very low Earth orbits.
