Peugeot roars with Bundy

Bundy Group, the Abingdon based fluid-carrying specialist, has won a handful of contracts across the PSA Peugeot-Citroen Group model range. From June this year, Bundy will be supplying power rack steering lines for the Peugeot 206, and power steering fluid-carrying systems to both the replacement for the 605 and the Xantia.

Peugeot Citroen turns to CATIA

CATIA Solutions – developed by Dassault and sold by IBM – will be used by Peugeot Citroen Group as its core CAD/CAM/CAE system for the design of all future vehicles. Peugeot Citroen already uses CATIA within its powertrain and electrical divisions, but this decision will extend the use into body design and the Digital Mock-up process.

Eurofighter boost for Ferranti

Ferranti Technologies has added to its existing involvement in the Eurofighter programme by winning a £4 million contract to develop a new DC-DC power converter for the Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft. The converter will ensure the support of essential equipment when the normal DC supplies are reduced to a low value during a battery powered auxiliary start-up sequence.

Weir gets £8 million hydro order boost

Weir Engineering Services, in consortium with ABB Combustion Services and ABB Generation, has been awarded a contract worth some £8 million, by Scottish Hydro-Electric for the complete refurbishment of the Errochty and Trinafour hydro power stations. The contract covers the complete electrical and mechanical refurbishment of the three 25MW Francis turbine generators and associated plant at the Errochty site and one 0.5MW Turgo turbine generator and associated plant at the Trinafour site.
