£1 million Oman deal for CEAG

Coventry based switchgear and lighting product manufacturer CEAG Crouse-Hinds has won a £1 million contract to supply its equipment to a liquid gas processing plant near Sur, Oman. The contract was placed by the Chiyoda Foster Wheeler Partnership, which was the engineering and procurement contractor for the project.

Italian job for Quin

Quin Systems of Wokingham has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with SBC, a major Italian servo motor and drive manufacturer. Quin believes that the SBC’s products integrate well with its own range of programmable transmission systems, and will offer a competitive solution for applications which do not necessarily require the full range of software functionality.

MOD contract for Rockwell

The UK Ministry of Defence has awarded Rockwell Collins a contract worth approximately £10 million for the replacement HF radio system for RAF E-3D Sentry AWACS aircraft. The contract requires the replacement of existing HF radio systems in seven AWACS. All aircraft are expected to be modified and in service by mid-2001.

To Russia with valves

A Russian export order has boosted the overseas earnings of UK based Valvestock to well over £2 million in the last three years. The latest export from the Fareham-based valve specialist is for more than 100 stainless steel ball valves for a food processing plant. Most of the valves are fitted with spring return pneumatic actuators with control systems consisting of direct mounted solenoid valves and close coupled switch boxes.
