Helicopter announced yesterday, 25 January, that it has been awarded a contract for ten Huey II aircraft upgrade kits for the US Department of State’s
facility.
The kits provide power, navigation, communication and special mission systems enhancements to the Bell UH -1H helicopter, and total rewiring.
US Helicopter also announced a contract with Lockheed Martin Integrated Systems for nine TH-1H training helicopters.
The same Huey II kits will be used to transform legacy helicopters into a training platform compatible with future operational aircraft. These will be used to support the US Air Force undergraduate rotorcraft training programme located at Fort Rucker, Alabama.
US Helicopter is a division of Bell Aerospace Services and a subsidiary of Bell Helicopter, a Textron company.
