US Helicopter announced yesterday, 25 January, that it has been awarded a contract for ten Huey II aircraft upgrade kits for the US Department of State’s Ozark, Alabama facility.

The kits provide power, navigation, communication and special mission systems enhancements to the Bell UH -1H helicopter, and total rewiring.

US Helicopter also announced a contract with Lockheed Martin Integrated Systems for nine TH-1H training helicopters.

The same Huey II kits will be used to transform legacy helicopters into a training platform compatible with future operational aircraft. These will be used to support the US Air Force undergraduate rotorcraft training programme located at Fort Rucker, Alabama.

US Helicopter is a division of Bell Aerospace Services and a subsidiary of Bell Helicopter, a Textron company.
