Deep-drawn plastic sheet stands out

Its excellent thermoforming properties and attractive price are among the reasons Eastman Chemical’s Spectar copolyester is being used by Process Plastics as an interesting and versatile plastic sheet raw material to make indoor and outdoor advertising signs. The company says that it saves a lot of time in its sign manufacturing processes and being easier to thermoform allows it to produce intricate, deep-drawn signs.

Its first application for the material was to create a series of advertising signs for Sony’s Playstation computer game console at bus stops in the UK. The cartoon character featured appears literally to jump out of the sign.

Process Plastics can make advertising signs using sheet Spectar copolyester from 7.6cm in size up to a single piece of 3m. Alternatively, bigger signs can be built in sections.
