Collins & Aikman Corporation announced recently that it has acquired Delphi Corporation’s plastic injection moulding plant and related equipment in Logrono, Spain for 15 million Euros. Other terms of the transaction remain confidential.
The 300,000-sq. ft. Logrono facility houses 24 injection moulders and one Class-A paint line.
‘The acquisition of the Logrono facility is an important move in our initiative to become a global manufacturer,’ stated Jerry L. Mosingo, Collins & Aikman’s president and chief executive officer.
Mosingo added: ‘It allows us to service the heavy concentration of OEMs, including Opel, Mercedes and VW, that produce vehicles in this fast-growing, low-cost region.’
