€70 million for Bombardier

Bombardier Transportation has received a €70 million order from the Transport Authority of Dortmund in Germany for the delivery of 47 Bombardier FLEXITY Classic trams.

Bombardier Transportation has received an order from the Transport Authority of Dortmund in Germany (DSW21, Dortmunder Stadtwerke) for the delivery of 47 Bombardier FLEXITY Classic trams.

Bombardier will be responsible for delivering the mechanical part of the trams which is valued at more than €70 million. The contract includes an option for five additional vehicles. Delivery of the 47 trams is scheduled to take place between October 2007 and August 2010.

Bombardier Transportation’s site in Bautzen, Germany will be responsible for the design and manufacture of the FLEXITY Classic vehicles. The electrical equipment will be supplied by Vossloh Kiepe.

The FLEXITY trams for Dortmund are based on the low-floor vehicles manufactured for Frankfurt/Main in Germany. The 30-metre long vehicles can carry up to 178 passengers, including 64 seated.
