Embedded merger

Two embedded computer vendors, Parvus Corporation and Italy’s EuroTech, merged yesterday, creating the largest supplier of products based on the PC/104 standard in the market.

The combined company will retain the ‘parvus’ and ‘EuroTecH’ brands in North America and Europe, respectively, and maintain offices in the US, Italy, China, and Germany, as well as channel distribution offices throughout approximately 16 additional countries.

The legacy Parvus team will be responsible for operations in North America, Australia and select English-speaking countries, while the EuroTech team will cover Europe and the Pacific Rim.

‘EuroTech and Parvus have very complimentary product lines and relatively little overlap in the markets we serve, so the opportunities for synergies and efficiencies from the integration of the two companies are very significant,’ said Parvus President Tom Hogan.

Parvus moved its headquarters in April 2003 into a larger US facility to accommodate the accelerated growth anticipated from the merger.

The terms of the merger were not disclosed.
