Embraer rolls out executive jet

Brazil-based Embraer finished assembling its new executive jet, Phenom 100, in Sao Jose dos Campos last week, and the aircraft is now available for testing.

After a series of ground tests to take place over the next few weeks, the jet will soon be ready for its first flight before its planned entry into service in mid-2008.

According to Henrique Langenegger, vice-president of Embraer’s Executive Jets program, more than 400 engineers worked on the Phenom 100 over the last two years.

The Phenom 100 program was launched in May 2005 as a best-in-class executive jet in the very light category.
