Ericsson expands in China

Ericsson has been awarded $56 million by Guangxi Mobile Communications Company Ltd for the expansion of their GSM network in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Ericsson has signed a $56 million contract with Guangxi Mobile Communications Company Limited (Guangxi Mobile) for the expansion of their GSM network in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Under the contract, Ericsson will provide Guangxi Mobile with GSM network equipment to help further enhance its network performance and capacity.

Nanjing Ericsson Panda Communications Company Ltd, the largest joint venture of Ericsson in China, will provide the contracted equipment.

Ericsson began its work with the Guangxi mobile market in 1992 when Ericsson helped deploy a TACS network for Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region as the only equipment provider for the area.
