Warrington, UK. ESR Technology, one of the industry’s leading engineering, safety and risk management consultancies, today announced the appointment of Martyn Foote as General Manager of its Aberdeen operation.
Known in the oil and gas industry as a leading authority on health and safety issues, Martyn joins ESR Technology at a time of strong growth for the company. He will be responsible for the day to day management of the company’s Aberdeen team and the successful delivery of safety consultancy services to clients in the region.
Martyn began his career with the Royal Navy, serving 12 years as a Marine Engineer before moving into the oil and gas industry in 1985 as a Maintenance Superintendant at Transworld Drilling. He later transferred to production operations with Texaco and was working on a platform neighbouring Piper Alpha on the night of the disaster. This experience was a key factor in his drive to improve health and safety procedures and training globally.
For the past 11 years Martyn has been with Cresent - a safety management, training, e-learning and multimedia services company based in Aberdeen - where he was a Director delivering projects for international clients. These included the development of safe systems of work including isolation management standards, both paper-based and electronic permit-to-work systems and associated training and competency projects, auditing and gap analyses services and crisis management training. He has also worked closely with the HSE on developing guidelines for the safe isolation of plant and equipment.
