The company is investing a total of £2m to expand production capability and increase the output of its factory from 20 million to 25 million brake pads every year, creating 68 new jobs.
TMD Friction develops, produces and markets disc brake pads for passenger cars, including innovative products used in motor racing. It also invests heavily in research and development.
The company is one of Hartlepool’s largest employers and this development will increase jobs from 296 to 364 over the next 12 months.
The internal layout of its existing factory will also be redeveloped to incorporate the new equipment and modernised manufacturing techniques.
