Industry benchmarks show that the latest release of Autodesk’s popular AutoCAD software now runs up to twice as fast as the earlier version. Improvements to Release 14 have been achieved by a new graphics pipeline and object-oriented database that speeds up drawing operations while making more efficient use of the available memory.

AutoCAD Release 14 makes it possible to share and publish drawings over the Internet. And for the first time, it includes raster support capability, so customers can use hybrid raster and vector drawings. Built in photorealistic rendering tools enable a `real life’ presentation of design ideas.

Although a full commercial copy of AutoCAD Release 14 will cost £3150, upgrades from Release 13 will be only £495.
