Ferrovial and Sainc consortium wins hydroelectricity contract

A consortium comprising construction company Ferrovial Agroman and local engineering firm Sainc has been chosen to build the Cauca river diversion tunnels and the powerhouse access tunnel at the Ituango hydroelectric power station, 170km from Medellín, Colombia.

The contract for this large hydroelectric power station, which is scheduled for completion in 2013’s second quarter, represents an investment of 141.891bn Colombian pesos (£49m).
