Flooring contracts for MB Tech

Teesside engineering firm MB Tech has been awarded contracts totalling £500,000 by Wimbledon Tennis Club, Total and GEA Power Cooling Systems.

The Stockton-on-Tees based firm, a member of the Tees Valley Engineering Partnership, specialises in providing access solutions, including open steel flooring, handrails, safety gates, ladders and glass reinforced plastics (GRP).

Over the next few months the firm will design, fabricate and supply lightweight flooring for the new roofing system trusses at Wimbledon, which will be automated to protect players and spectators from bad weather. This contract is worth around £80,000.

MB Tech will also supply around 5000m2 of open steel flooring worth in excess of £320,000, for Total’s new hydrodesulphurisation and hydrogen production units at the Lindsey Oil Refinery, near Immingham in Humberside.

Germany-based GEA Power Cooling Systems have contracted MB Tech to supply open steel grating, handrailing and stair treads for air cooled condensers on their power station expansions in the UK, in a deal worth up to £100,000.
