Baldor has launched a powerful new version of its Mint programming environment for motion control applications. Mint v4 offers features like a library of keywords providing real-world motion system functions in the form of high level commands, and a common API for all of Baldor’s motion control hardware.
The new keywords raise the library size to more than 300. This support can reduce the complexity of programming by allowing complex movements to be accomplished using just one command.
The common API provides a universal interface which offers three different approaches to Mint programming: using the onboard Basic-like interpreter supplied with every motion controller; employing a library of Mint-compatible C routines; or operating under control of a Windows-based host application.
