GE wins $29 million contract

GE Oil & Gas has received a contract worth $29 million to supply two gas turbine-powered compressor trains for the Peciko 4 gas processing plant in Balikpapan, Indonesia. The plant will be owned and operated by TotalFinaElf E&P Indonesia of Jakarta.

The scope of GE’s contract includes two PG25+ gas turbines, each with a rated output of 29 megawatts; and two centrifugal compressors. The two compressor trains will undergo testing at GE’s facility in Florence, Italy before they are shipped to the project site.

GE also will supply inlet and exhaust systems on a single-lift arrangement for on-site installation, control and protection panels, installation and commissioning supervision, and spare parts.

PT. Pal of Indonesia, GE’s consortium partner for the project, will handle logistics and part of the scope of supply to be sourced locally.

The GE equipment will be shipped to the site in January of 2004 with the plant expected to begin service in June of 2004.
