Heilbronn, GermanyGGB, formerly Garlock Bearings, has introduced its new EP™ series of injection-molded, solid-polymer plain bearings that provide excellent wear resistance and low friction over a wide range of both dry and lubricated operating conditions. Potential applications, including industrial, automotive, aerospace, off-shore, food processing, packaging equipment and others, generally are limited only by the material properties of the new bearings Made of a variety of thermoplastic resins with the addition of solid lubricant and reinforcing fibers, the bearings exhibit excellent dimensional stability, low coefficients of friction, high compressive strength and creep resistance, low thermal expansion and good thermal conductivity. Because wear performance is uniform, allowable wear is limited only by bearing wall thickness and mechanical constraints of the application.
