Glass fibre in our clutches

DSM’s Stanyl TW200F6, a 30% glass fibre reinforced PA46 grade, has been selected for the production of a clutch ring that helps to reduce clutch maintenance in vehicles with a life expectancy of over 150,000km.

The spring loaded thermoplastic ring has serrations which are wedged forward to maintain the proper gap between the pressure plate and cover fulcrums, resulting in a constant feel for the driver throughout the vehicle’s life.
