The record was achieved on the final day of a practice week ahead of an attempt at the motorcycle land speed record, which stands at 376.363 mph. Martin and his team comfortably exceeded the previous official Triumph record of 245.667 mph, set 46 years ago.
“It’s good and we are moving in the right direction,” said Martin. “But it is just one step on the way to what me and team are here to do.”
The Triumph Infor Rocket features a carbon Kevlar monocoque construction with two turbocharged Triumph Rocket III engines producing a combined 1,000bhp at 9,000rpm. Standing 25.5 feet long, two feet wide and three feet tall, the motorcycle is powered by methanol fuel and competes in the Division C (streamlined motorcycle) land speed record category.

With the five day test now complete, the team is due to return to Bonneville in the last week of August to attempt the world record, and potentially break the 400mph barrier.
