Harbin Electric, a developer and manufacturer of electric motors based in China, has recorded total sales of $105m (£71m) in the first quarter of 2010, compared to $31m in the first quarter of 2009.
According to the company, higher sales were primarily driven by increased sales in all product lines resulting from a strong economic recovery in China.
Linear motor sales were up 60 per cent, driven by higher oil-pump sales and sales for linear motor propulsion systems developed for coal transportation trains.
