EDO Corporation has been awarded a contract to supply six CS-3701 Electronic Support Measures systems for use on S-class frigates under the Hellenic navy’s mid-life modernisation program.
Deliveries under the contract, which is in excess of $10 million, are expected to begin by November 2004 and be completed in 2008.
According to EDO Corporation, the CS-3701 ESM is a precision direction-finding system currently in use by several international navies for both surface and subsurface vessels.
It provides improved situation awareness, targeting, self-protection and surveillance by continuously monitoring potential radar threats, even in difficult electromagnetic environments, allowing the ship’s crew to quickly take defensive action.
The CS-3701 ESM equipment will be manufactured at EDO’s Reconnaissance and Surveillance Systems unit, located in Morgan Hill, California.
