Honorary degree for Dr Rhines

Dr Walden Rhines’ contribution to pioneering microelectronic devices in the semiconductor industry, has been recognised by the award of an honorary degree from the Nottingham Trent University. The award was presented to Dr Rhines, president and chief executive officer of Mentor Graphics, by the chairman of the university’s Board of Governors, Sir David White, at the university’s annual award ceremonies at Nottingham’s Royal Concert Hall.

Dr Rhines contributions to technology, and its application to problems, range from basic development of metal oxide semiconductor (MOS) manufacturing processes to the design of new types of silicon chip architectures and application software development.
