Icape opens sales arm in Nottingham

French-owned printed circuit board manufacturer Icape is to operate its UK sales arm from Nottingham

French-owned printed circuit board manufacturer Icape International is to operate its UK sales arm from Nottingham.

The East Midlands Development Agency’s (emda) Inward Investment team worked with Icape’s sales director to identify opportunities in the east midlands in healthcare and transport – two key sectors in which the company has specific growth plans. Over the next three years, Icape plans to create up to five new jobs with staff working from a local office.

Paul Pinder, UK managing director, said: ‘Icape has an annual growth rate of 30 per cent with a turnover of €20m. There is real scope to nurture our commercial potential, and Nottingham is proving a great place to do business because of its central location in a region that has strengths in sectors that are fundamental to the achievement of the company’s strategic goals.’

According to emda, Inward investment plays a vital part in bringing quality jobs to the East Midlands. The RDA said attracting technology-driven companies like Icape to invest in the region is essential in stimulating the local economy.

Nicola Kidd, emda’s head of international investment, said: ‘Icape has recognised that the East Midlands has a globally competitive offer in transport technologies, with world-class companies and strong research and innovation capabilities. We’re pleased that Icape has chosen Nottingham and I wish them every success in the future as they continue to develop their business.’
