ICAT ’97 for the design engineer

The organisers of this year’s ICAT’97 are throwing the spotlight on software and hardware for mechanical engineering and manufacturing.

Hopefully then, engineers will no longer have to chart their way past many largely irrelevant stands. There is an extensive seminar programme, with speakers drawn largely from participators at the exhibition, which will highlight some of the latest issues and technologies in the field. Voice-driven CAD, designing a CAD system for speed of use, increasing design efficiency using the World Wide Web, integration of CAD systems, business benefits of design optimisation, data exchange standards and reducing manufacturing costs using Java Technologies are all subjects visitors might want to brush up on.
