Icelandair commits to the purchase of 12 737 MAXs

Boeing has announced that Icelandic carrier Icelandair has committed to purchase 12 737 MAX aircraft, valued at more than $1.9bn (£1.1bn) at list prices.

Once the details have been finalised, the deal will be posted as a firm order on the Boeing Orders and Deliver website.

The 737 MAX single-aisle aircraft incorporates the latest LEAP-1B engines from CFM International and is designed to deliver high efficiency, reliability and passenger comfort.

Icelandair Group currently operates an all-Boeing fleet of 23 757 aircraft for both its passenger and cargo operations.
