Injectors: made in China

Siemens VDO Automotive is to invest about 10 million Euros to produce gasoline fuel injectors in China.

The injectors, part of the company’s new ‘DEKA VII’ product generation, will be produced in Changchun, Jilin Province, in a facility that will be a clone of Siemens VDO’s other two injector facilities in Italy and in the United States.

The Deka VII gasoline injectors made in China will be produced to meet the needs of Siemens VDO’s customers in Asia – from Japan to India. The injectors were launched in Europe and North America last year.

The ISO9000/QS9000 certified Changchun facility, established in 1995, produces engine management control units, sensors and fuel rail assemblies.

Volume production is expected to start in January 2006.
