Calor Gas’ bottle filling plant at Grangemouth, Scotland, now uses Micro Motion Elite meters from Fisher-Rosemount to monitor and control the bottling and blending of butane and propane gas.
They replace earlier volumetric devices and ensure accurate data is available about gas flows. Calor processes up to 22tph of propane and 10tph of butane.
One of the benefits of using the new devices is that mass flow, density and temperature can be measured at the same time. This information is fed to a field RFT 9379 transmitter, from where measured data is delivered to a site-wide SCADA system.
Continuous remote propane monitoring of all operations is now possible from an office-based PC, from where real time displays of pipeline flows, densities, temperatures, levels and other parameters can be viewed continuously. Daily and weekly reports are generated by this PC.Fisher-Rosemount, Tel: 01243 863121; Fax: 867554.
