British Airways Engineering has selected mySAP.com for an integrated maintenance and engineering system which aims to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
BA is also working in partnership with SAP and PricewaterhouseCoopers to create a global maintenance and engineering e-business market, which will be open to all airlines.
The mySAP.com site will provide a real-time view of spare part stocks and maintenance needs to BA and its suppliers, optimising supply chains and offering better utilisation of stock worldwide.
Using mySAP.com’s Workplace, about 8,000 users will be able to access SAp software via the web, including mySAP’s Business Information Warehouse, which contains information on parts, and Advanced Planner and Optimiser to facilitate scheduling.
Jim Sullivan, technical and quality director for British Airways, said: `We anticipate achieving considerable savings and efficiencies with mySAP.com, and also breaking new ground in the global management of aircraft engineering.’
