Lymington’s Warrior Aero Marine, a loose association of aviation engineers led by designer James Labouchere, is looking for backers for its Centaur seaplane; pictured above as a fifth-scale model; £2.5m is needed to build a first prototype. Based on racing yacht technology and built mainly of composites, it can cope with bigger waves than other seaplanes and can carry more. Folding wings enable it to moor in yacht marinas.
