One of Europe’s largest single site independent bakeries, Fletcher’s of Sheffield, has ensured high quality production of its American muffins and scones with the installation of batch control flowmeter equipment from Schlumberger Measurement Division.

The company’s Unipulse positive displacement flowmeter faced demanding levels of efficiency and performance at the Sheffield bakery, with up to 120,000 baps, 50,000 doughnuts and 18,000 scones and muffins produced every hour.

The Unipulse meters are used to precisely measure the amount of water being added to the scones and the amount of vegetable oil and water in the muffin mix, helping to improved cost efficiency and the consistency of product quality.
