BMW has signed a partnership agreement with UK lubricant firm Burmah Castrol under which all of its models will be despatched with Castrol oil.

The deal was described by Castrol as the most significant technical, commercial and marketing agreement it has ever signed.

The agreement will also see Castrol take control of BMW’s lubricants business. It is the first deal which involves supply of lubricants for a large company’s products and factory equipment.

Castrol lubricants will be recommended in BMW Group literature and to the company’s 3,500 dealerships worldwide.

The company will work with BMW to develop lubricants for new engines. It is also committed to supplying the BMW Williams Formula One Team and other BMW motorsports activities.
