BNFL withdraws

British Nuclear Fuels has withdrawn its request for a six-fold increase in the permitted aerial discharge of radioactive tritium gas from the thermal oxide reprocessing plant at Sellafield. The company said it was modifying its application to change the discharge authorisation after `further improvements in gaseous clean-up systems’.
