More details have emerged on next month’s major C&I Europe Show, which takes place at the NEC, Birmingham for four days from 13th to 16th May. The event will again be this year’s largest for measurement, control, instrumentation, automation and systems integration in the UK.
Attractions will include exhibits from ABB Kent Taylor, Danfoss, Elsag Bailey, ERA Technology, Fisher-Rosemount, Moore Products, MTL, Omron, Phoenix Contact, Rockwell Automation, Siemens and Vega. And several of the exhibitors are promising major launches.
Fisher-Rosemount is returning to the Show after three years’ absence, and unveiling its new PlantWeb architecture. The company says it will `change the way you see your plant’. With PlantWeb, all intelligent field devices, scalable control platforms and PCs are nodes on a network, along with modular Performance software. F-R says this leads to a new control environment, with highlights being the Delta V control system and the Asset Management Solutions.
ERA says that it will launch a software tool, NeuromonitorPro, the result of its recent neural netproject. The company says it’s aimed at process control and optimisation problems, improving product quality, reducing energy consumption and increasing plant throughput.
* According to organiser, Miller Freeman Exhibitions, a major new feature will be a Technology Transfer Pavilion to encourage a link between innovation and business development. Exhibitors there will include ERA, the National Physical Laboratory, the Particle Physics and Astronomy Research Council, Abbot International, Sira and Tartan, Accumax and the Defence Evaluation Research Agency.
* A consortium of Fieldbus Foundation members is to be at this year’s Fieldbus Communications Pavilion at the Show. Following its demo at the ISA Show last year in Chicago, FF is promising a subset of the devices in passive form. Companies involved include ABB, Fisher Rosemount, Foxboro, Fuji, Honeywell, Moore Products, MTL, National Instruments, Pepperl + Fuchs, Sira, Toshiba and Yokogawa.
* An ISA Pavilion will again be a feature of the C&I Europe Show. Beyond displays from member companies, there will also be demonstrations of ISA On-Line, its world-wide web site and details of the society’s books, magazines and standards.
* MF Exhibitions has launched a Web site providing prospective visitors to the exhibitions with on-line guides to both. The site also provides facilities for Show pre-registration, industry news, details of the technical conferences and CPD training sessions, attendee and exhibitor services and contacts, hotel and accommodation and hot links to other services.
