Mechanical Dynamics now has a version of its Windows-based Femap analysis modelling and visualisation software which combines the advantages of traditional finite element analysis based on modelling with geometry based analysis modelling and idealisation to enable analysis users to become more productive. As well as providing dual engine geometry modelling, it offers enhanced CAD data import, new idealisation tools and Internet publishing capabilities. With both ACIS and Parasolid kernels in Femap users can import CAD data from AutoCad, Microstation Modeler, Solid Edge, SolidWorks and Unigraphics. It can also import and display data from Abaqus, Nastran and ANSYS.
