Advanced technology venture Adaptive Broadband has been acquired by California Microwave for $11m (£6.5m). The company is a spinoff from the Olivetti & Oracle research laboratory, with Professor Andy Hopper (pictured) being director of both. Adaptive has been developing wireless broadband technology to make portable, low-cost broadband wireless connections for applications such as Internet access.
