DaimlerChrysler will become the first car maker to launch a fuel cell vehicle, when it starts to deliver buses powered by fuel cells in two years’ time, chairman Jurgen Schrempp said. A total of 30 of the buses have been ordered by 10 public transport operators across Europe. The company plans to launch a fuel cell passenger car, developed from the Necar 4 prototype, in 2004.
