Demand for small cars rises

Increasing demand for fuel-efficient small cars boosted sales in the first half of 2000, says the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders. Sales in the mini and supermini sectors rose by over 15% on the same period in 1999, while total registrations rose by 2.1%.
