Digital X-ray system

Non-destructive testing equipment firm OIS Engineering has developed a totally digital industrial X-ray system that produces real-time digital X-ray images as a single continuous strip at speeds of up to 55mm per second. Non-destructive testing equipment firm OIS Engineering has developed a totally digital industrial X-ray system that produces real-time digital X-ray images as a single continuous strip at speeds of up to 55mm per second. A motorised orbiting mechanism makes it capable of scanning circumferential and spiral welds in pipes up to 50mm wall thickness. The X-ray image is acquired from outside the pipe, doing away with the need for internal pipe `crawlers’.
