TI group, has announced that its Dowty Aerospace division will benefit from the UK Ministry of Defence’s decision to lease four Boeing C-17 Globemaster III aircraft and in the long term, to order 25 of the new Airbus A400M.
Under a separate contract, Dowty will supply titanium systems for the C-17. The value of the two awards will be over $25m for Dowty, taking the estimated worth of the C-17 programme to around $200m.
Dowty already provides wing structural components, hydraulics and actuation as well as turbine engine components for the Boeing C-17 Globemaster III and was selected as a Best of British supplier by Boeing earlier this year.
Apart from Dowty’s current share of the C-17 programme there is the possibility of more than $100m of further work over the next four years.
