With the opening of new drive centres in the UK, Mitsubishi says that it’s entering a new phase in its development – better reflecting its current activities abroad.

The company is moving into full system integration in partnership with Sensors & Systems, Logicon, MES, Link and BPX. In addition to drives integration, these will offer a wide-ranging automation package, including PLCs, SCADA systems and associated software. Mitsubishi claims that the new centres are dedicated Mitsubishi sites.

Mitsubishi is also bringing out new servo and vector variable speed drives, including much larger drives. Dubbed Meltrac, the new range comprises digital, high power IGBT drives in seven sizes. They’re aimed at controlling three phase a.c. motors from 75 to 450kW. Features include light weight, small size, low noise and full programmability.
