Battery units offer a secure supply

For telecoms, security and control applications where a secure power source is vital, XP has developed the CPS series of long-life lead acid battery-backed power units.

These can be wall or rack mounted and feature power factor correction and overvoltage protection producing up to 85% output efficiency at maximum load.

Omron B3W mechanical sealed keyswitches, fully protected from ingress of board washing chemicals after soldering, are suitable for use in dusty environments.

The switches come as either general-purpose low-pressure actuators or as a high-force type requiring more than 3N operating force.

Thermaflex is a thermally conductive silicone rubber for high-voltage insulation. It can replace mica or grease, typically in power transistors, transformer bases and semiconductors requiring heat transfer, with applications in telecoms, power supplies and medical devices.

Specialist distributor Hawnt Electronics says its fine pitch interconnection sample kit will simplify the choice of connectors in applications that use flat flex cables and flexible printed circuits.

Based on the AVX Elco connector family, the kit combines straight and right angle connectors in pitch options of 0.50, 0.80, 1.00 and 1.25mm.

Lumberg has developed braided connecting cable rated to IP68 for automation and general industrial applications where harsh working conditions, high mechanical stress or vibration can be found.

The range includes locking plug connectors in straight and right angle versions with an optional LED display to show status.

Galvanic isolators from Ceag Crouse Hinds serve as low-cost signal conditioning modules between the field device and control system in hazardous areas.

They are suitable for distributed control system and PLC applications.
