Electricity companies referred

Two electricity companies have been referred to the Competition Commission by energy regulator Ofgem. AES and British Energy have been charged with refusing to sign a condition designed to prohibit generators from abusing their market position. Both companies, who may be forced to accept the condition, claim that it is over-regulatory.
