Trials to establish the effects on the environment from burning meat are proceeding on a combustion test rig.

Emissions under analysis include CO, SO2, dioxins, particulate matter and hydrogen chloride. The presence of nitrogen oxide is monitored by a vacuum chemiluminescent NOx analyser, from Signal.

The unit is designed for sample analysis in ranges from zero to 4ppm, up to 10,000ppm, with a converter supplied to switch from NO to NOx measurements.

Operation is automatic with auto-diagnostics and configurable alarms included.
